Mrs. Dorothy Warfield Mr. Carl Myers Business Manager Mrs. Katherine Schafer 'Mrs. Nancy Staugh 41 Mrs. Louise Davis Let me say to everyone that is beginning life: Do not begin with exaggerated ideas of your own worth. Do not think that you, without battle, ought to be vic- tor, and walk from the beginning with those Iaurels about your head which are to be twined there, if at all, only at the end of the campaign. Do not flatter yourself that life owes you, any- more than it owes anybody else. It owes you, in common with all others, just as much as, climbing, you can bring down. It owes you a chance to be something. It will give you that, and nothing more. It is better for every man to begin with this understandings I have a chance to carve out my own way. This is all I want. Having that, I will take the consequences. To the Class of I967 Dorothy Warfield

Mr. Robert Adams Mrs. Gloria Groom Mr. Truman Reese Mrs. Elizabeth Kovack Your class is graduating in a very exciting time. By that I mean there is much to do at a time when al- most everyone is competing for your talent and services. If you are prepared, as I trust you are, to meet this challenge in social science, science, and in- dustrial development, your goals will undoubtedly stretch far beyond one's imagination. However, try to remember that there are other people who need help too. Men who are longest remembered, and whose memories are most highly revered, are those who serve humanity. I wish to congratulate you upon attaining your graduation. Best wishes for your happiness and your continued success. Sincerely, Robert L. Adams Superintendent The Class of '67: Heartiest congratulations on your graduation from Eastern! Commencement Week should be a time of real sig- nificance to all of you. Commencement should not be an end to your education or training, but rather, as the meaning of the word implies, a beginning You are on the threshold of new, Q budding careers, rewarding years of re-study A at college, careers in business, industry or the farm, experiences in the Armed Forces, or rich, useful lives in whatever careers you . have planned. Truman J. Reese 40
