THIS WAS THE CLASS THAT WAS . . Was what? Well, pretty scared, that's what! We're talking about our first day here at Eastern, naturally. Man, we had a blast that day. It all be- gan with a peaceful riot in the auditorium and had, as a grand finale, a race for the buses. You'd never believe the number of kids who missed their buses that day! We found that the year passed very quickly, however, and we soon heard ourselves laughing at the next class of deadbeats, the class of '68. The year proved to be quite interesting. We went on a trip to Washington in science class. It was the same science class in which we learned that birds and bees have something to do with human beings. We did learn how to make very good paper air- planes that year. One day, when the teacher stepped out of the room, we flew our projectiles, only to find that he was standing outside of the building watching us. He was very understanding about the whole matter, though. We had to write only l,0OO sentences. Ah! Our freshman year. Very exciting indeed! We sponsored the Hilltop Hootenannyf' jThat's a dance., We look back on civics class with tiring thoughts. Notes, notes, and more notes! That's the story of our learning about the United States gov- ernment. We got through that year after using 47 pencils, I9 erasers, and 266 M pages of notebook paper! And so, without further ado, onward to tenth grade we marched. We had a Roaring Twenties dance which proved to be quite fatal to our budget that year. It was a Flop. We also staged a cafeteria boycott. We made the newspapers not one, but two days in a row. We were finally coming up in the world! During our junior year we did something good for a change. We threw the greatest prom ever. We also got our classrings. The more romantically in- clined gave theirs to a friend as a token of their loyalty. Finally, we were seniors. No more worrying about getting to class on time, no more worrying about homework, in fact, no more worrying about anything. We were the first class to produce a Se- nior Class Play. We also drew up a driving peti- tion. It was rejected, but we beat our tenth grade record. We made the newspapers three days. We were overjoyed to learn that we would experience at least one more coloring class before our school days were over. We colored to the tune of a peck- ing typewriter. And now, we no longer look up to the teachers because we're so small, they look up to us. Be- cause you're so tall? you ask. Well, we'd rather think it's because we're so cool. You say that's conceit? We disagree. Conceit is a fault. We have no faults! GU-J'-JC-La-4-Of 'GT' Toodles, gang!! Our Class 116797
