FUTURE HO EMAKERS CF AMERICA The Future Homemakers of America, organized on a national level, is open to any girl in grades nine to twelve who is studying home economics. As part of its pro- gram F.H.A. gives its members an opportunity to develop and carry out activities pertaining to homemaking. The main goal of the organization is to help each individual become a better person at home and in the community. Each year the local organization sets up a program which will help the club members achieve their goal. Some of the club's activities include attendance at the regional and state F.H.A. meetings, sponsorship of a dance, and a service project.

FUTURE F RMERS OF AMERICA The Future Farmers of America is a national organization for boys studying voca- tional agriculture. The primary aims of the F.F.A. are the development of leader- ship, and citizenship. The F.F.A. helps each member make an intelligent choice of the farm occupation which he will pursue after graduation. The F.F.A. has four degrees of active membership: Green Hand Degree, which is conferred by the local chapter, Chapter Farmer conferred by the county organiza- tion, Keystone Degree, conferred by the State Association, and the highest degree, the American Farmer, which is conferred by the National Association. York County Star Future Farmer of America Ellsworth Lehman was selected in competition with the best F.F.A. members from the nine other schools in York County Chapter of Future Farmers of America. He was chosen on the basis of his scholarship record, leadership activities, his supervised farming program, and his F.F.A. activities.
