Steers Eastern on Smooth Course Miss Olga V. Bawden, Vice 9 cold snowy A strong voice on the PA, a friendly smile in the hall, and a Cadillac on the parking lot are symbols of Miss Bawden, most recent arrival in the office occupied by three different vice- principals in the past three years. Change and tradition being important aspects of their life at school, seniors take both in stride and consider themselves lucky to have known them all.

Varied Talents Mrs. Alice Hess Adviser' Between adviser and class a chemistry develops that is part parent-child, part teacher-pupil, but larger than either. With nudges, with pats of pride, with scoldings, and with sweet reason, Mrs. Alice Hess has urged, applauded, and argued her class through its swaddling stages into the role of school leaders. Looking back on these years, members may well remember her dressed up and sparkling in the receiving line at iunior prom or hair pushed aside sitting on the floor sewing a hem behind stage for Our Town. Whatever the picture one recalls, there has never been doubt in anyone's mind that her intelligence, her interest, and her warmest feelings have belonged to the class of 1964.
