Science Department 4 Mrs. Myers, Mrs. Fisher, Miss Lentz, Mr. Johnson, Miss MacHamer, Mrs. McDer- mott, Mrs. Stritehoff, Mr. Kirsch. The current emphasis on sci- ence in the space age makes it necessary for well-inforlned Easternites to understand the physical concepts of their age. Eastern's Science Department, headed by Miss Helen Lentz, strives to prepare each student, if not for a scientific career, at least for a general understand- ing of new developments in the world of science. This year, the Science Department has been expanded to include advanced chemistry and biology in addi- I s l tion to the regular courses of physics, physical science, biol- ogy, chemistry, and geography. Mr. Edward El- ton, custodian. Mr. Keene, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Holmes serve the school well as members of the custodial staff. Custodial Staff Does somebody need a light bulb replaced? a broken window repaired? a room heated? a picture hung? These odd jobs are just a few of the many duties attended to by Mr. Edward El- ton, Eastern's chief custodian, and the versatile members of his willing staff. Now, ladies, what shall we have for tomorrow's lunch: ,lobster newburg, pheasant under glass, or hot dogs? Cafeteria Stall An official school day does not really begin for Miss Marilyn Zum- stein, Eastern's new dietitian, until the third period, when the first group of hungry girls descends upon the cafeteria. Providing nourishment for over three thousand young ladies is no easy task. The school is indebted to the cafeteria staff for the fine job they have done. Miss Marilyn Zumstein, dietitian.
