The basketball season brings many Easternites out to participate in the action packed game. She flies through the air with the greatest of ease. Physical Education The Physical Education Department is an im- portant part of the curriculum at Eastern High School. Besides the sports and skills that make up the regular physical education program, Eastern students may sign up for extra-curricular activities such as basketball, volleyball, archery, golf, speed- ball, softball, table tennis, modern dance, and bad- minton. From these groups varsity teams are se- lected to enter inter-high school competition. Ath- letic letters are awarded to the girls who have gained a certain number of points through partici- pation in extra-curricular sports.
