Seated: Miss DGRGH, MVS- Woodward- Mathematics Department Mathematics is playing a vital part in the world today, and Eastern's Mathematics Depart- ment is encouraging girls to take a greater in- terest in technical fields, New courses have been added during the years as the need has arisen. The subjects that are offered by this department include general mathematics, plane and solid geometry, intermediate and advanced algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and analytical geometry. The Mathematics Department also helps juniors and seniors to review math for college board examinations. These reviews are greatly appreciated by the students as many of them do not take math in their junior or senior years. Eager students of geometry look on as two of their classmates demonstrate a typical problem. 20
