Tu Begin With . . . From our earliest recollections, high school had appeared as a challenging step in our pursuit of learning. Therefore, in 1949, it was with eager anticipation that we entered Eastern as the Class of 1952. The problems and responsibilities of the step we were about to take rose up before us as a mountain which demanded of us great pre paration and planning before we dared the expedition of exploring its heights Climbing a mountain can become very tedious as well as dangerous and so the need was felt for a motivating force to inspire and guide us in choosing right paths All thoughts of fear that hat, begun to mount in our minds as we speculated our ascent to the peak, were quickly wiped an ay as knowledge embodied in the form of Minerva Roman goddess of wisdom stretched forth her hand to assimilate us as an integral part of Eastern It was particularly fitting that this stately goddess for whom the Parthenon Cwhlch means Maidens Apartments was built should be our patron at our all feminine institution of learning We have therefore chosen Minerva as the theme for our year book in the hope that she will guide us through these pages just 'IS successfully as she has guided us through our three years of high school AJ' ,S,f6f1.
