We the students of Eastern Connecticut. State College feel we must sincerely ac- knowledge the devotion and determination of a former student. Throughout the years this student has greatly influenced the his- tory of this college. In the 1930's and 1940's several attempts were made to discontinue the operation of this institution. This one person was in- strumental in the continuation of Eastern Connecticut State College as it exists today. For this we are grateful. Without the sup- port and perseverance of this person thou- sands of students would not have had the op- portunity to attend this college, ' With this in mind, we the stajf of the 1971, Sustinet take great pride in dedicating this yearbook to Mrs. Margaret C. Hurley.
