The Student Government Association is a represen- tative form of student government which provides an opportunity for the student body to develop skills in democratic procedures while they cooperate in finding responsible avenues through which to help meet their social, economic and curricular needs. Senators are elected by each of the four classes, and serve as repre- sentatives of the concerns and needs expressed through class meetings. Ojjficers for Senate are elected yearly serving as representatives of the entire student body in deliberations with the Faculty Senate and Adminis- trative Council. Another of the major functions of SGA is to facilitate the development of new groups and to determind the fi- nancial allotments for all clubs, organizations and spe- cial activities within the total student government budget. 146

B.O.G. The College Union Board of Governors plays an important role at ECSC. The student board is responsible for an ex- tensive program which supplements the educa- tional objectives of the classroom by ojfering the students a living experi- ence in a social, cultural and recreational environment. ,f if fb.
