Q . . e . C . . . . O O HISTORY A group of very unusual youngsters entered the little red school on the corner of Beau and North Wade back in 19h2. They happily met Miss Iams at the door, little realizing what the coming decade or so would bring. This class of sweet harmless toddlers turned gradually into this year's seniors, the class of 'Blu First, second, third, and forth grade seem pretty hazy as we look back on them. Perhaps it's just as well. Some things are better forgotten. However, I think everyone remembers gazing with awe on the wonderful upperclassmen who inhabited the second floor, and the pride and happiness that we felt when we in turn became the grown-up fifth graders. It was in sixth grade that Patty Graham was added to our class, and a fine addition it was too. Our class had the honor, that year, of being the first to use the new desks with swivel seats. They made the most fascinating cleck as they turned and when sufficent speed could be worked up, a sound resembling machine-gun fire was achieved. In seventh grade we were blessed with two new additions, Frank Eiduke and Bob Jordan. During our big year feighth grade at lastl Mr Roberts helped us earn money to make our formal dinner dance and teachers' tea a big success. For our class day program we had a mlnstrel which we, at least, will never forget When the next September rolled around, an eager group of freshmen gathered at the High School doors The first few days we walked around in circles searchlng for classes and be having l1ke average newcomers, but this d1dn't last long, as the teachers can readily verify This year Ella Mae Kirk, Ruth Mozina, and Marjorie Zediker were added to our class Our home room teacher was M Knestrick After banging a few heads together, he was ready to pass us on to Mrs Faust. This was the year a strange sensatlon came over us and so, to have some excitement, we took to stealing clocks Remember? In our Junlor year we flooded all of East Wash1ngton w1th statlonary and magazlnes to flnance the prom wh1ch w11 never be equaled Between our selllng th1ngs and Hborrowlngu flowers for decorations, people began to h1de when they saw a JUH1OT COm1Hg Thls year Harold Whitaker Jolned us M s Meloy took a good deal from us and managed to make that JUHIOP year wonderful Our senior year started out with D1ck Murray falllng over h1s own feet while play1ng foot ball Th1s seemed to be the secret signal because immedlately a host of accldents followed Mr Dorchester not only had to take the responslbllity of getting us through Ch8mlStIy but also had to keep order 1n our home room Somehow he managed to come through lt w1th very few scars and he deserves a medal After we attend the Senior Prom, Baccalaureate, and produce a wonderful classday, our high school days w1ll be ended by Co mencement It will be a sad day when our class leaves, but the memories w1ll remaln to haunt the teachers for years to come -.3 N Fla 41 I O I . - ' O , - I I . . . - . . ., . . . They have d1scovered a new type of clgarette wh1ch g1VeS you less nicot1ne per puff We hope thelr experiments prove successful! ' As night falls we go to the entertainment gathering at the center of the village to hear Cavova Kirk's, alias Ella Mae Kirk of Buffalo, Pa , latest rendition of UComin' Round the Uountaln The next day we leave the vlllage to continue our tour. As we board our rocket, we are quite surprised in finding that we have taken on a new pilot. Well my word, lt 15 none other than our classmate Ronald Heiney Well, now we know we are 1n capable hands SWOOP1' SWISH We just took off' As we arrive at our next dest1nat1on, Hawaii, we are greeted by the Amer1can French dancer, who is teach1ng the latest Hawaiian Arthur Murray dance steps to the natlves It 1S Patty Graham Qhe takes us to lunch and 1n the afternoon we attend the wrestllng matches The maln event of the day is an Australian tag team match featur1ng Brute Corwln and Duke Eiduke versus Gorgeous George Jr and Cypsy George. Could th1s be the George whom Brute Corw1n has been looklng for slnce h1s Senior Year? We also see Duke's 6 foot 2 inch son, who 15 tra1n1ng to be a basketball star That was a pretty good match Winners You'll have to figure that one out yourselves Nurse Coen was the medlcal 2SS1StaDt at the mafcl We guess she is st1ll a falthful follower We hate to leave the island, but we must be m0V1HQ onward, As we pass over the Sahara Desert we get a gllmpse of Louise Desmond and her caravan st1ll searchlng for the Lost C1ty We stop to refuel our rocket 1D Egyp+ and hear that Barbara Enlow, now Mrs Platt, is forever d1gg1ng up unclalmed bod1es for her husband Good luck' Ve also hear the famous lady veter1nar1an L1nda McVeh1l 13 treatlnv camels for desert exhaustlon We have refueled and now we take off for India. As you know, the famous Tag Mahal 15 located in this countryu You may not recognlze lt now, for the world-known inter1or decorator, Ruthle Mozlna, has just flnished d01Hg the place over with some of her own ideas. By her slde, remalns that faithful buddy, Nurse Chase, It seems that Gay 1S always on hand everytime some of Ruth1e's helpers fall off the scaffolds. No wonder her favorlte song is Wwhen the Men Come Tumblxng Down,H Marjorle Zedlker is st1l1 teachlng English to the Indlans. As we cross over into RuSS13, we stop at a hotel 1n Moscow, We see on the entertalnment bill that two good acts are showlng 1n the evenlng, Harold HHotl1psH Whltaker, the famous trumpeter, is playlng there tonight. His secretary, Prlscllla Montgomery, keeps all her notes in jazz instead of shorthand. Pretty good actl We see at one of the tables the ambassador to Russla, from Amerlca, Mr. Richard Murray. Engoylng the show Nlth h1m 15 also h1s stenotyplst Robert Jordan. Paul Gullick was the big man in the ad-lqout department while Patty Graham, Harold Whitaker, Ruthie Mozina Chuck Olshock, and John Posten drew funmr clowns and a circus menagerie to prance across our activity pages. Bea Enlow typed out all the vital information which went underneath both the pictures Hr. Arnold took and the snapshots which Bob Beatty busily spent his spare minutes clicking. When errands had to be done, Ronnie Heiney was alwqs ready to do his part. As you see a Yearbook is a complicated concern. We've added this little piece because we want you to know just who was responsible for this yearbook of 19521. Ns A three act comedy Meet Corliss Archer was pre- sented by the Junior Class on November 20, 1953. The play was put on as one of many fund raising campaigns to help finance the Junior Senior Prom. A very fine job was done by Miss Brown, Director, assisted by Fletcher Bryant, student director. Plqring the part of Corliss Archer, 'an attractive high school girl, with a vivid imagination and per- suasive personality, was Ann Hill. Dexter 'Holy Cow Franklin, her boyfriend uhm she adores, was played by Buzzy Wilson. Cousin Agnes, very cranky and snoopy at times, was played by Hary Ellen Frazier. Corliss' parents, Hr. and Hrs. Archer, were played by Jim Craver and Sally White. The Franklins, Dexter's parents, were George Weiss and Gale Bennet. The nurse was Carol Ann Corwin, and the Maid was Harianne Goga. The very nervous Doctor was Hal Smith, and Corliss' best girl friend, with an imagination as vivid as her own. was played by Carolyn Bruno. Betty, a teenage friend, was played by Evelyn Cohen. The falculty and members of the class cooperated splendidly in making the play a success. The boys of the class, headed by Tom McBurney, stage manager, did an excellent job on the stage. The play was enjoyed by many and considered highly successful. Fletcher J. Bryant l l '27 J 0 ' ll iv-i 1? Row Row Pow Row Row 1 R1ch1e, F Goga, J D1M1chele, P. Bill Mclean channels his dreams onto model trains while John Posten livens his thoughts with guns and information about then. Dorcas Richey dotes on horseflesh and Paul Anthorv nqsteriously thinks about McMurray Ctown we meanl. 311. 1 E Q 2255 5: 13: Eavhiani.-.B.'Gr-ahah, iifiiina, Efbehei G ' T f e f' C N l F' A a ' , SPORTS CEFM I XJ' K www Mm My 7 7 '7 Q5 'P .1 If K ,f z I FJ . f.-gm , an, 'S'.u:' HH e ,- V 4. 5' ft fl It ' in HT' H f H + + H , h ' at I Y 1- H 5 Q' 7 aye 3 J- V JW' - W -J' f-H i I J X i V tw' xH V., I V X z A xx we VX I X, , I W 1 V I 3 , f if H.:- Q Q? , Q, ,Yr 1 ,Vt 3 , W rf' -.. ! 1 As, ,Gr M gy' ,nas ,V KL' gun :A yr ...SA f .
