A few of you will continue to further your study for professiona careers at institutions of higher learning, others will seek employment leading to highly skilled positions in business and industry, while still others will want to remain at home to continue domestic science careers. Whatever your decision . . . it is my fervent hope that you continually strive to be good citizens of the community you so proudly represent . . . that you strive toward a life of active leadership in the church, in the school, and in the home. During the past two years of our acquaintance, I am proud of the achieve- ments and worthy contributions of you, the graduates of the class of 1952. The manner in which you have worked so co-operatively with your fellow students and teachers toward making the high school a sound, democratic institution, deserves my deepest appreciation. Good luck and fond wishes to you a ll for a successful career. This was the class of H52H. After spending most of the year getting accustomed to school life, we buckled down and memorized HNip and Tuckn just in time to pass. The ne:t year we learned advanced readirg and spelling, also the correct way to toss a bean bag In third grade we were welcomed w1th open arms and a copy of Audubon's Bird Guide Between the regular subgects, we learned how to tell a redbird from a blackblrd and a Sycamore tree from a eucalyptus In fourth grade we reached the prestlfe of belonging to the Grade School Rhythm Band This consisted of tapping sticks together, beatirg drums, and snakint tambourine ow we were ready to go upstairs' The next four years passed very quickly, and we had m ny new experience , such as, going to high school twice a week for gym ard manual arts The la t part of eighth trade was the most exciting of our grale school years e spent hours plannin our class day and graduation programs, which were a great success Our last week was celebrated by a party every night, and after receiving our diplomas and writing certificate, we ran home to rest and recover Our high school life then began with shoeshines for the seniors and hard searche for the right class The cla s was areatlz increased by arrivals from Somrer t and other countrv schools The next three years were very engoyable ones, full oi xcitement e went to all the usual event such ball Lames, dance and many vacations 11th suite an effort, we manafed to stueeze in some tudyirg and earn a few credits time left for extra curricular aCt1V1tl6S Ie managed to put out a yearbook, plan class day and the other e sentlals Dow the time has come to leare, addin the la t line to the history of a class to be long remembered in a t Jashinfton Wifh chool CXO 2' if C A, . We did not have enough players to compete with the other schools and win our games, so it was decided that we would drop football. Perhaps next year or in a few years, East Wash will again be represented on the gridiron. When this happens we wish the boys all the success in the world and hope they will win enough games to make up for this year. The Reserves Bob Wharton, Bill Corwon, Ronald Hei- ney, Buzzy Wilson.
