Joanne Smith, President Helen Imhoff, Vice -President Cir 726.07 Offoyw Iwas happily surprised when Iwas elected president of our class. The realization that my fellow students liked me as a friend gave me the confidence necessary to carry out the work of such high honor. Dear Classmates, At the time of the election, a full year was ahead for all of us. In my case, since I was chos'en as president, I foresaw that not only would I have to keep up with the required school work, but also to enter in all other school activities. This much I knew. The seniors would have to set themselves as examples for the underclassmen. Friendliness, inspiration, and encouragement would be the ideals to foster. As President of the Class of '48, Iwish to express the gratitude and thanks of all of us to our teachers, who have made our school life happy and profitable To my classmates, I give thanks, too, for the fun we have had and for mak- ing our senior year the best one that East has had.
