The main purpose ofthe 1970 LOCUST is to say to you, the reader, This is East Texas State University. The book is a product of many hands, minds, and ideas- all combined to yield a pictorial and verbal crossasection of the year's happenings at ET. A tide of change swept over the campus with presentations of new ideas to the administration and faculty from the student body. A jam-packed crowd in Memorial Stadium witnessed I a not-to-be-forgotten climax of the football season as ET slipped past Stephen F. Austin for the top position in the Lone Star Conference.
