Mitchell Grenadiers, East Texas ROTC drill team, per- formed this year. In their regulation Air Force officers? uniform with white helmet liner, citation cord, scarf and gloves, the team performed with infantry drills combined with movements of the Queen Anne manual of arms. The Lions lost the ball game by a score of 48-73 however, neither the students in the stand nor the team lost their spirit during the game. A group of students turn out to see the football players off to Denton for the East Texas- North Texas game. Another group, too late to get into the picture, arrived iust as the lmovs were leaving. Lloyd Corder, East Texas back, skirts right end for an important gain in the North Texas-East Texas game. Men work to clean green paint off the Lion. North Texas left this calling-card about 8:30 one night. East Texas students guard the Lion' to keep North Texas from repeating the painting act of the night before. The week preceding the North Texas- East Texas game was filled with school spirit. Two pep rallies were held during the week. Students from NT visited the ET campus three times, each time leaving their mark of green. One time the ET Lion was almost completely covered with green paint.
