The department of industrial education aims to prepare students who wish to obtain positions with large manufacturing concerns. The offerings in the department may be divided into three groups, each rep- resenting a distinct type of work, namely, mechanical drawing, wood- working, and metal working. S'r1c1.1.A LAIVIOND J. G. GROVE ART The department of art is truly a contributor to cultural advancement creating a love of the beautiful. The aims of the courses in this depart- ment are to give specific training in the fundamental principles of art, to develop a vital interest in original creative expression through the use of different media, and to give def- inite instruction in the art problems to meet the 11eeds of primary, inter- mediate, and high school teachers.

FREEMAN GEOGRAPHY The outstanding objectives of the geography department are to aid the student in the technique of teaching and group organization as well as aiding him in gaining ag knowledge of man and his environment and famil- iarizing him with the use of geo- graphic materials. These objectives are achieved through courses in environment, ge- ology, conservation of natural re- sources, geographic iniiuences, cli- mate, and others including all the nations of the world.
