The 'famibf spirit of East Texas Baptist College is manjested through the devotion attached to the college mascot, the TIGER. Each student entering E. TB. C. for the jirst time becomes a tiger cub. This cub continues to learn and grow, fumlling the purpose of the college based upon two guiding princmles: that the liberal arts form the surest foundation for education, and that the Christian faith provides the surest foundation for lie. Time passes and the cub grows and learns until upon graduation, the cub has become a mature, full-grown I TIGER ready to face the opportunities and challenges of lje. He is one Who has truly become a part of East Texas Baptist College through his interest in his students and through his willingness and his attempts to help them. His very presence at the many college activities has caused many students to become more fully involved in the life of our college.
