Lott: Workers were a common sight on campus this year as dorm rennovations steadily progressed. Below: Time Out. The benches on campus are a handy place to collapse after a hectic day. Bottom Lott: This class like many others shows the decrease in enrollment during fall 1980 Change manifests itself in many forms, but more often than not, it brings progress - and with progress, a sense of moving on toward the future. ETSU did just that during 1980-81. It moved ahead making changes as it went along. It added a soccer team and wrestling to move on in its Southern Conference standing; it ren- ovated several buildings including Carter HalI. the chiller plant, Cooper Hall and others, at- tempting to upgrade the quality of life at the university; and it changed over to semesters in an attempt to provide students with a better education. . hi! kl Yes. the world does hate change and ETSU clamored a cry of injustice when reality sunk in and semesters were here. But the cry was soon muffled as students reatized there wasn't much difference between semesters and the old quarter system; after all. once the conver- sion was made. there was nothing to it. Life still went on and so did the parties. the peopte and the process of education. Life with a new president seemed to be al- right. With him came many new administrators and administrative changes .. a new athletic director, a new women's tennis coach. a new director of alumni affairs, a new dean for the College of Education and a new dean for the College of Medicine, to name a few. Faces on campus changed as old faces moved into the world after graduation and new faces moved in to take their places after orien- tation. The cycle renewed itself, preparing once more to move on. The wheel 0! change moves on, and those who were down 90 up and those who were up 90 down. -Jawaharlal Nehru 6 a Opening
