Sigma Nu ' s Sponsor Second Snake Day The second Sigma Nu Snake Day was a roaring success. E. T. S. U. ' s seven sororities competed in the days activities which were held at the Sigma Nu Fraternity house on West Walnut Street. The fraternity sponsored Snake Day to create better Greek relations on campus. Several types of events were held for sorority participation. These events included a sign con- test, car push, skit, and scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt involved four or five sorority girls and their Sigma Nu coach. Each sorority searched for specific items which were on a list given to them by the fraternity. The items on the list were collected in the Johnson City area and on campus. Alpha Omicron Pi won Snake Day for the sec- ond year. Alpha Xi Delta placed second, while Kappa Delta came to a third place finish. All in all, the day was full of fun and excitement for all participating Greeks. Brothers from the University of Tennessee Sigma Nu chapter visited E. T. S. U. to help celebrate Snake Day. The day ' s activities ended with a dance for all sororities and frater- nities at the Sigma Nu house. 1 . Sigma Chi ' s Capture Diamond Day Trophy Sigma Chi Fraternity pulled away from Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity in the last few minutes of Diamond Day activities to come to a first place finish. Lambda Chi Alpha came in second, and Sigma Phi Epsilon won the third place trophy. Lambda Chi Alpha ' s hard work and enthusiasm brought them a number one spot in the spirit contest. Diamond Day is sponsored annually by Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. It is the only fraternity competition spon- sored by a sorority during the year at E. T. S. U. A wide variety of events are held for fraternity par- ticipation. These events include a skit, spirit contest, barbershop quartet, mystery event, egg drop, car push, relay, and others. The activities are scheduled every spring quarter. Alpha Delta Pi ' s set aside two days to hold the events on the track field and on the amphi- theater stage. 1. Lambda Chi ' s. Jerry Christian needs a steady hand for hitting the cup which Lee Chase holds for the egg drop event. 2. A representa- tive of Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity participates in the marsh- mallow feast event. 26 Diamond Day
