0, spiritual friend and counselor, William Richard Rigell, associate professor of Religion, inspires our campus by liv¬ ing the faith to which he has devoted his life. His smile, his warm greeting, and his genial sense of humor give him a welcome into the hearts of all. DEDICATION Dr. Rigell came to our campus from the pas¬ torship of Central Baptist Church of Johnson City, Tennessee, where he had served twenty-three years. Upon his volun¬ tary departure fr om this pastorate, he left a warm glow of affection among his member¬ ship; however, he brought a spark to our campus which has become a beautiful flame of love and respect among our students and faculty. Dr. Rigell received his B.A. degree from Howard College, Bir¬ mingham, Alabama; his M.A. degree from the University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois; his Ph. B. degree from University of Chicago, Chicago, Illinois; and his D.D. degree from Howard Univer¬ sity, Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Rigell has written two books in the field of Religion; Investments in Christian Living and Prophetic Preaching. His keen sense of inspiring and wholesome humor keeps open the door of affection to all with whom he comes in contact. In recognition of Dr. Rigell’s service, we the students of East Tennessee State Col¬ lege dedicated to him the 1958 BUCCANEER. Page 9
