foreword The oak tree stood here, old and wise } when this college was hut a dream and a hope in the minds of the people who made it. For three decades it has seen men and women come and pattern their lives after its own — deep-rooted and vital, strong and useful. It has watched patiently as youth has brought its talents here to have them strengthened and en¬ larged hy education. It has been witness to working and playing, and to the finding of friendships. Twice it has seen young men go off to war, and twice it has seen them return to prepare themselves to live in a world at peace. Now it looks down on a campus that is awakening to Spring after the winter months of war. As always it stands to give welcome to all who come , and to bid Godspeed to those who s e C dLton
