The council endeavors to strengthen the spiritual life of each in¬ dividual. This purpose is accomplished through mass meet¬ ings, personal contact by individual groups, and through encouraging each student to participate in some local church program. OFFICERS President.. . . At Christmas the members entertained a large number of unfortunate child¬ ren. Every Sunday afternoon vespers are held, and on Wed¬ nesday night a devotional meeting is conducted. The Y. W. C. The winter quarter of girls Intramural Sports found Basket¬ ball in the limelight. Louise McBee, competent head of sports put a little spice into the game by engaging some outside games with such strong foes as Tennessee Eastman, Tusculum and local Nurses. Our team came out on top most of the time. The varsity team consisted of: McKay, Hartsell, Webb, Good¬ win, Norton, S. Anderson, Fink, and McBee. A. Worth, Manager. When Basketball season rolled around this year it found Coach McMurray with little material with which to build a team. But our war-time edition of Tennessee State Buccaneers surprised all of us. The season was completed with nine wins and two losses. Both losses being to Tusculum College.
