l S 7 x' ff June.Bug I I Ex Libris Foreword When we, The June graduaTes of I952, TirsT enTered EasT Technical Those Three shorT years ago, we were obsessed noT by ThoughTs oT our subsequenT or even evenTual graduaTion, buf raTher by a sorT of Tear ThaT encompassed everyThing new To us abouT EasT Technical. One oT our greaTesT worries was The onslaughT of The Teachers. Wield- ing assignmenTs as Their mosT poTenT weapon, we feared ThaT They would come charging down upon us ancl leave us only wiTh Time To breaThe. ln This as well as in EasT Technical, we were noT disappoinTed. YeT. considering ThaT we sTill live and breaThe, iT couldn'T have been bad aT all. In TacT. now ThaT we can look back. iT was raTher enjoyable. ln an all boy school There cannoT be much of a social life. Or aT leasT. so mosT of us ThoughT Three years ago. EasT Technical has provided us wiTh a never-To-be-TorgoTTen excursion info social acTiviTies noT only wiTh The numerous inTer-school dances ThaT were held wiTh The very charming girl sTudenTs of Jane Addams and John Hay buT also Through The many clubs and acTiviTies ThaT were open To us. Perhaps The mosT imporTanT single gain oT our high school life was The chance To culTivaTe new friendships and enrich The ones we had already made. - . . . .BuT now we are leaving. The Time has come Tor us To venTure ouT inTo The world's of science and indusTry and prove ThaT EasT Technical has pre- pared us as well as The Thousands who have gone before us whaTever life nas in s+nre for us leT iT rome! Mr. Anderson, Coach To all. graduaTed from WesTern Reserve Uni- versiTy, where he received his bachelor of arTs degree and wenT on To earn his MasTer of ArTs degree. Coach Anderson came To EasT Technical in I946 immediaI'ely aTTer serving Three and one-half years in The Navy and has been here ever since. AT EasT Technical, aside Trom Teaching physical educaTion, he handles The TooTball, baseball, and baske+baII Teams. His hobby This summer, The Coach admiTs, will be iusl playing a loT of golf. IT is selT-evidenT ThaT Mr. Anderson's excellenT Teaching and unselfish services To his sTudenTs will serve as a greaT influence and inspiraTion. Ex Libris Three Year History OT greaTesT inTeresT To us, The June graduaTes of l952, are The Three banner years we spenT aT EasT Technical. From SepTember I949 To June l952, EasT Technical has sponsored and parTicipaTed in so many evenTs, Thaf we herewiTh menTion only The mosT ouTsTanding of These. The Easf Senafe FooTball Crown, which was won during The '49 grid sea- son, produced The greaTesT sporTs Triumph during our Three years. Our EasT Side DecaThlon Champs and Cify Track Champs performed brillianTly To reTain Their Thrones. Greaf Brown and Gold baskeTbiall and baseball Teams ThaT iusT needed a few breaks have been equally impressive. The Tech Mer- men swam and splashed like The swiTT denizens of The deep To become DisTricT Swimming Champions. while a Tennis Team wiTh greaT possibilifies began surging upward. By way of enTerTainmenT, EasT Tech sTaged Three greaT shows: The FesTival of Fun, The VarieTy Show and The Open House. The firsT Two included sfage shows Thaf broughf ouT much of The Theafrical TalenT here aT EasT Technical. The Open House acquainTed our parenTs and friends wiTh EasT Tech: and iT clearly proved To Them ThaT our choice of schools was a wise one. During our brief sTay, The building was cleaned and painTed, giving iT a more pleasanT afmosphere for bofh sTudy and play. We have had our quoTa of sefbaclcs and also our share of successes. If our successes have oufnumbered our failures iT is only because of The aT- mosphere provided and The aTTiTude mainfained by The wonderful faculfy al' EasT Technical.
