F O R E W O R D When, in the passing of time, it becomes necessary for one group to bid a fond farewell to another, it is only fitting and proper to present the departing members with a token of remembrance, which in years to come, will recall to them memories of happy days and troubled days spent in company with comrades who, like themselves, were a bit reluctant to say goodbye to their friends and the scene of their greatest adventures Such a group is the June graduating class of 1940, and such a token is our annual, the East Tech June Bug.” This annual is net meant to be an accurate story cf life at East Tech. Many important factors are left out, purposely or accidentally. However, enough is included so that a graduate glancing through it in years to come should be able co relive the days spent at his Alma Mater. Certain things will stand out m our memories, such as dances, parties, sports events, auditorium programs, and half holidays, not to mention the numerous voluntary” free days. Other events, such as detention periods, calls to the office, library and book fines, report cards, history, civics, and book reports, will receive special mention as things to be endured by all students of East Technical. However, they are all a part of the great animated panorama of life at our Alma Mater. The annual board has strived to bring you this bit of remembrance in an enjoyable and understandable fasion. Nevertheless, if the complaints are not too numerous and the compliments not too limited, the board members will feel themselves amply repaid for the time and effort spent in writing and printing this historical document.
