CLASS OFFICERS Row I: Stanley Perchan (secA, Ralph Giel (pres ), Robert Schmies (trees ). Row II: John Evens (asst, trues.), Ralph Boers (r. pres ). PRESIDENT:Ralph Giel graduated from Audubon Junior High School. He came to East Tech to specialize in Aeronautics. He was a member of the Varsity Football Squad at East Tech for three years. He is a member of the Whirlo Club and participated in homeroom as Vice-president during the 10A. VICE-PRESIDENT: Ralph Boers graduated from Alexander Hamilton Junior High School. He came to East Tech to specialize in Chemistry and take the College Preparatory course. He has been Treasurer and Vice-president of the Student Council, President of Hamiltechs, Vice-president of the Alchemia Club. SECRETARY: Stanley Perchan graduated from Myron T. Herrick. Specialized in electricity, belonged to Scarabaean Honor Society, National Honor Society, Freeman Wreckers, and the Social Committee of the Student Council. TREASURER:Robert Schmies graduated from Audubon Junior High School. He came to East Tech to study electrical work: organized the Les Chemistes Club and became its first president. He is also Vice-president of the Scarabaean Honor Society, President of the National Honor Society. ASSISTANT TREASURER: John Evans graduated from Addison Junior High School. Came to specialize in Architecture. He was a Page Boy of the Student Council, President of the Corinthians, assistant in the Lost and Found department, and played clarinet in the Bond for three years. t

Row II: lediscrnie (osst art editor), Savoca (pnotography editor), boprano (asst. sports edtior), Stephens (asst editor in-clvef J, Yerashumas (business mgr.), Siegel (asst, coordinator), Tylicki (asst, busmoss mgr.), Kreiner (asst, club editor) PROCEDURE OP COPY The Editor-in-chief of the annual assigns the copy to the heads of the annual staff who in turn write it up and give it back to the Editor for a check-up. He then gives it to Mr. George Davis, English advisor, who checks the copy for grammar. It is then sent to the print shop where the Printing Coordinator gives it to compositors who are on the staff. They set it up and the first proof is sent to Mr. Davis to be checked again. After it is checked it is then made up into pages and locked up in a big chase, four pages at a time. The form is then placed on the press and made-ready, and the final proof is shown to Mr. Hurst, the printing instructor. After it is checked it is run off and allowed to dry. The type is unlocked and distributed back into the cases. The four page sheets are cut and trimmed. The pages are gathered and sent to the binder to be bound. They are then returned to East Tech where they are sold to the Seniors.
