Due to the efforts of the Varsity E Club our stadium has a new permanent lighting system and other much needed improvements. Since thanks are inadequate a measure of apprecia- tion can be shown by dedicating this 1955 year- book of East Stroudsburg High School to the East Stroudsburg Varsity E Club. f . ' . Then raise aloft that standard And let its colors gleam There's vict'ory in those shining folds And glory in its beams For our dear Alma Mater We'll battle for the right True to these our colors The Purple and the White. Purple was the royal color Of all the kings of old, It stood for might and valor, And victories untold, So We choose this glorious emblem To stand for poW'r and might, It will ever guide us, The Purple and the White. In the flag of our great nation Are shining stripes of white, They stand for peace and justice, For purity and right, Honor, strength, and truth, and valor, And Wisdom's shining light Gleam in these clear colors, The Purple and the White. We had faith in one another and found then when each one assumed his share of the responsibility we had a better community in which to live. I sincerely hope that during your school days here you have learned to accept your responsibilityg and, as you look to the future, you will always remember that the light of faith always brightens the darkest corner.
