J Ur IORS L ef! I0 High!-J. liaton, N. Ace J. McCarry, N. Walters, Mr Stem. Junior Class llistory On September 7, 1950 the class of 1953 en- tered the doors of the East Stroudsburg Senior High School for the first time. It was rough goin for a while with those horrible seniors heckiing us, and the first activity the Sophs participated in was the Sophomore Initiation. Those sophomore football players made wonder- ful chorus girls, didn't they? After things had settled down a bit, we elected our class officers. President, John Eaton, vice-president, John Arnstg secretary, Pat lrlartzellg treasurer, John fVlcGarry. As sophomores, we held the Shoulder Pad Fling in honor of the football team. We also made history with our minstral show Carolina Shindign which was a terrific success. Before we knew it the end of the year loomed in sight, and we elected the class officers for our junior year. Pres., John Eaton, Vice-pres., John NlcCarryg secretary, Norma Aceg treas., Nancy Walters. We came back to school on September 6 as much wiser and experienced juniors. Our first activity of the year was our Turkey Trot on December 8. Then on January 17, we put on the hilarious production, One Mad Night, which was a box-office hit. On May 9, we held our Junior Prom to bid farewell to the seniors. Now we are seniors and hope to have an even more successful year than the past two. MEMBERS OF THF JUNIOR CLASS B. Dawson, W. SOPIIOMORF CLASS OFFICERS Left to right - W. Wagner, D. Herman, S. Secor. 2' f. 2 Sophomore Class History One day in early September, the class of 'fifty-four entered the front door. The side door came later, and for some, is still coming. The next few weeks were one mad confusion, but before long we became accustomed to the new teachers, new subjects, new classmates, and new re lations, Sophomore regulations. A few weeks Jgter we leamed the meaning of the term, Little Sophomoresf' through the rigors of that democratic institution, the initiation. When the matter of a student constitution came up, our class plunged whole-heartedly into it and adopted it by a nearly unanimous vote. ln the mean-time individual students have been busy. There are a large number of Sophomores in every activity from band to chorus, including Chess Club, Hi-Lite Club, Hifle Club, the Y organizations, and our football, basketball, and baseball teams. The football team roster is swelled by these sophomores: J. Anthony, W. Butz, B. Fish, B. Hartman, B. Hartman, D. Herman, B. Rogers, F. Summa and S. Boorstien. The basketballteam is aided by these sophomore athletes: J. Anthony, J. Chase, F. Ciofalo, R. Fellman, H. Felker, B. Fish, B. Hartman, R. Hartman, D. Herman, A. Miller, C. Beid, F. Summa, P. Tumer, H. White, J. Young, R. Zimmerman. By the time this is published we will be juniors doing our best to better our record. NIFWZFRS OF THF SOPHOHOHF CLASS H. Weaver, C. Fisher, P. Turner, L.
