Page Twelve THE ESTLIAN F7 JANUARY 1945 CLASS ln lllcmoriam Students and faculty members alike will lonq mourn the loss of one of their most steadfast friends, Mr. L. I. Musselman, who for twenty-three years was a teacher in the Commercial Department at the East St. Louis Senior High School. ln his classroom on Friday morning, November 17, Mr. Musselman was stricken by a cerebral hemorrhage, and died a few hours later at a local hospital. lf there be such a thinq as immortality, certainly some part of it is com- prised of the ideals and attitudes, and the emphasis upon human decencies which one in his brief span on earth is able to instill into the hearts and minds and souls of those who pass within the province of his constructive influence. We know that such immortality has been achieved by Mr. Musselman, for his memory shall live--fresh, vibrant, inspiring-in the hearts of students and friends whose numbers are leqion. No qreater tribute can be paid than the assertion of the universal conviction which he inspired-that he was a friend: and better still, that he was a MAN.
