SCHOOL SWAYS The Navy Hand performed at East Side High School on April 3. 1985. The band consisted of sailers who travel to perform in different sections of the country for special occasions, assemblies and benefits. They entertained us with various selections from some of the most popular hits on the charts such as. I Can't bight This Eeeling. Lover Boy. Careless Whispers, and Desert Moon. The stage was crowded with wires, equipment, colored lights, and instruments, all needed for those special effects . As soon as the band struck the first chords and sang the opening words, the auditorium was filled with cheers and whistles. Juniors and Seniors alike clapped, sang and swayed to the overwhelming beats given out by the band which was invited to perform by our class advisor. Mrs. Glover. The program was a gigantic success filled with an hour of tunes in which each song sung had a different singer. This program was very entertaining. and the group was definitely terrific. They were given a standing ovation and applause to match. What a way to begin a school day, we really should have more live entertainment at East Side High. O Special
