'BR€RKIN' FOR GINR On February 23rd. 1984 the spirit of friendship wos in evidence ot Cost Side as students participated in an activity which proved to be enjoyable for them os well os helpful for a special little person. This activity was the breok dance contest in which Cost Siders exhibited their talent in breok doncin, rappm. and electric boogie. This contest wos organized to help Gina Rrdito. our speciol friend who needed an operation. Contestants were judged by DJ's from the local radio stotions. The winners In the electric boogie were Chester UJHioms ond Marcus Irby, while Marvin Huey ond Cedrlk Honeyblue won the M.C. award. Jose Hernandez. Usette Montalvo, ond Cdison Rodriguez received awards in the breakin” category. On Thursdoy April 12th 1984. more thon 170 speciol guests from the Clifford Street Senior Citizens Club assembled ot Cast Side High School for the First Annual luncheon held In their honor This ideo wos first brought to the ottention of the Student Council by Mr. Martin. Vlce Princlpol. The doy begon with o grand welcome from Cost Sides Morchlng Bond. The honored guests were escourted to the gymnasium where they were entertained by various dubs ond members of the student body. They were. then, ushered into the very Sprmg-hke decoroted oil-purpose room, for o sumptous luncheon catered by cafeteria chef. Mr. Aoberts. During the luncheon, o roffle wos conducted by members of the Student Council The grand prize wos o gourmet food bosket. During these festivities. Mrs. CordieBos. school Principal, expressed her thanks to the guests for attending this special occosion ond for shoring with us the pleosure of their company The luncheon proved to be o very memoroble event for everyone Involved.
