Mr. M garo, at hia daak aarly in tha morning OUR WORKING PRINCIPAL When we fondly recall the days and year spent at East Side High, it will be impossible to forget Mr. Megaro. our principal. Faced with a tremendous construction problem of two new additions to our school, confronted with the reconstruction of our old building, and compounded with the fact that he was newly assigned as principal to East Side High during the hectic years of 1979-1980. he has through dedication, inspiration, and concern for all of us and those to follow, accomplished feats that exemplified his talents as administrator. Hia accomplishments were not those that made headlines, but instead were the types of achievements that made our environment of learning, our day to day activities, and our awareness of what is important in our educational experiences, meaningful and fruitful. We would like to list just some of these accomplishments by Mr. Megaro, not to highlight his career, but more to accentuate those day by day administrative problems that we, in most instances, were not aware of. and yet had a great impact on our educational environment. Supplementary supplies, equipment and instructional material were purchased to enhance learning situations in many departments. New classroom, cafeteria, and health office furniture was purchased to replace old. obsolete, and broken furniture. Mr. Megaro, enriched, expanded, and improved the curriculum to meet the needs of all of us at East Side. We cite only a few of the many accomplishments Mr. Megaro has spearheaded in the past two years. We wish him continued success and are confident that those who follow in our footsteps will continue to benefit from such dynamic leadership. 20

OUR ADMINISTRATION: A TEAM EFFORT Our years at East Side High School have achieved meaning and fruitfulness due to the fortitude, willingness, imagination and abiding values by our school administration who have shown genuine interest in our welfare. Mrs. Maria Cardiellos, Vice-Principal, gives freely of her time to an integral part of our school life. She brings understanding, a pleasant disposition, and an awareness of the importance our family heritage plays in our lives. Mr. Joseph Chagnon, Vice-Principal, is always busy helping to make our school a pleasant and pleasing environment. His cheerful manner, patience and tolerance with the many day to day problems that crop up, and hit persistent efforts to help our school are consistent with his dedication and willingness to do the best for all of us. Mr. James Martin, Vice-Principal, is a good friend as well as a dedicated advisor. His tolerance for our mistakes, his understanding of our opinions, and his guidance with wisdom has helped many of us. Mr. Angelo Sena, Vice-Principal, will always be remembered for his genuine interest in our welfare. Mr. Sena's expertise extends into the many and varied functions at East Side that contribute to the enrichment of our lives. His encouraging manner, quiet humor, and availability for that extra help or assistance in a special problem are other examples of how he has contributed to making East Side High School not only educational but enjoyable as well. The guidance and understanding we receive during our years in school comes from the people who surround us. The progress and changes made over the years were made by innovative and practical people in positions of leadership.
