 IN RECOGNITION We the senior class of 1981 extend our congratulations to Joseph C. Parlavecchio, our alumni of superior merit. Mr. Parlavecchio graduated East Side High School in June 1961. He went on to higher education and earned his B.A. and M.A. degrees at Jersey City State College. Mr. Parlavecchio continued his educational pursuits at Newark State College and Seton Hall University. His accomplishments and highlights in education indicate an academic achievement of outstanding merit. A variety of educational positions and responsibilities which saw him assume the role of teacher, director of recreation, Title I Project Coordinator, vice-principal and finally as principal of Dayton Street School all pointed out Mr. Parlevacchio's capabilities and versatility. Mr. Parlavecchio’s energies and expertise expanded into the fields of civic and community activities. A vital force in the East Ward civic, political, and communtity affairs, Mr. Parlavecchio played an important role as a member of the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and as President of the East Ward Young Democrats. We are most proud and privileged at the selection of Mr. Joseph C. Parlavecchio as our alumni of superior merit.
