Queli Jr. with the hope that the perseverence and determination he displayed in his lifetime will remain a guiding force in our lives. On November 1, 1978 we suffered the tragic loss of a great friend James J. Queli Jr. the principal whom we all respected and loved. Mr. Queli spent his grammer school years at Mt. Carmel Elementary School and then attended East Side. During his high school years, he played on the varsity football, basketball. and baseball teams. Upon graduating, he attended Scranton University; transfermg one year later to Seton Hall University where he was graduated. Mr. Queli's first assignment as a teacher was at Central High School and he was later transfered to East Side. He became principal in 1975. As principal the students came to respect and admire Mr. Queli. There were times when students needed his assistance in school matters and he responded positively to them. His interest in his students contin- ued after the day ended beyond the normal school hours. That's what made him special.
