Our thanks may have gone unexpressed, yet we shall long remember their advice and sympathy for our problems. MRS. MARIAN MATARAZZO Class Advisor TAn Advisor’s Life Is Not An Easy One” Mrs. Matarazzo, has, perhaps more than anyone else, added a special quality to the many activities we seniors have enjoyed at East Side. Throughout her two years with the class of ’63 she has been an inspired and dedicated advisor. She has brought out the best we have to give; she has given the best of her talents, time, and enthusiasm to us. By tireless work, she has seen this class through two overwhelmingly successful years. Her fine character and high standards have been an inspiration to all seniors, and her consistent efforts in our behalf have endeared her to all. The entire senior class wishes to express its sincere appreciation and affection to her for all she has done, and to let her know that many of the fond memories we take away from East Side, and a great deal of the good we have achieved here, can be attributed to her guidance and inspiration. “ o gift is more precious than good advice. —Erasmus Supervising voting. What is East Side? Not just a structure of stone, steel, wood and glass, but people—a school is no better than the people who fill it. Let us show you East Side, its administrators and faculty, whose single aim is the greatest good for the greatest number, through constantly improved educational methods, whose devotion to their task is often unrecognized until years after we have left their classes and graduated into the struggle of life, where their lessons suddenly take on new importance. They are truly the servants of the people, since without their unceasing, sometimes unappreciated, efforts to impart knowledge and skill to each oncoming generation, our lives and the welfare and progress of our nation would lx? limited and backward indeed. They enrich our lives with insight into beauty and provide us with the tools to make our abilities fruitful and rewarding. ll HOMEROOM TEACHERS
