ADMINISTRATION Our four years a» East Side have been happy and fruitful, owing to many influences, one of the most important being our school administration. Mr. Ackerman and Mr. Griffiths will often be remembered by us for their genuine interest in our welfare. A. I believe that you are justified in looking backward with pride upon four years of solid accomplishment. You have selected an impressive and appropriate theme for your year-book. DEDICATION Our years at East Side High have been not only educational but enjoyable as well. A great part of our education has been learning to live and work together, regardless of religion, race or color. This close bond of brotherhood has enabled us to venture into the world, the very best of American citizens. It is because of this shared good will that we have made many of our accomplishments in studies, sports activities and the act of maturing. We have learned to treat our neighbors as we ourselves wish to be treated. Brotherhood is a seed which must be planted, nurtured, and fed in order to survive. As we leave East Side, we shall be able to carry this seed, which has grown and blossomed in our hearts, and plant it in the hearts of those whom we shall meet. Much is written about brotherhood; there are songs about it, movies on it, and one week out of each year is set aside for it. But we, the seniors of East Side, have it in our hearts fifty-two weeks of the year and in tribute to this, we solemnly dedicate our 1962 Torch.
