The' play is concerned with a Mennonite family living in Pennsylvania during the 19403. Papa is a tyrannical man who controls his family with an iron hand. XVhen Iake, Emma, and Mama rehel against Papa, the results are disas- trous. But the gentle and whimsical nature of the God-fearing Mennonites gives this play ir light-hearted air in every act. XVlien Papa is reported killed in a train acci- Papa ls All If I toldt you vonsc, I tolzlt you a tousand timesfi' dent the family relaxes in their new-found free- dom. But Papa returns, but not for long The surprise ending is really a shocker. The cast included R. Cochnar, Papa, B Schiesswohl, Mama, B. Kugler, Emma, D Tausenfreund, jakeg R. J. vb And Never Been Kissed Ably directed by Nliss Nlerlo, this delightful comedy about teenage Flory Patterson proved to be a terrific success. Flory is nearly sweet sixteen and has never been kissed-but not for lack of trying. Through a series of hilarious schemes Flory devotes all her energy to making herself vivacious and dev- astatinglv attractive. The play highlighted some wildly humorous scenes in drawing parallels between the flap- pcru of the ,:20's and todavs bobby soxer. Lewellen, who plays Flory, was ably assist- ed by D. Hembisz as her matter-of-fact sister, B. Tuella as her understanding mother, and a procession of others: D. Peitrowicz as the con- temptuous Charles, XY. Lockwood as the dis- tant Douglas, E. Pastula as the divine Philip, Y. Preli as Flory's best friend, R. Greene as the studious Gilmore, C. Huha as the laughable Mr. Peabodv, S.
