Iiducation is a business and the Board members serve in like capacity to the directors of a corporation. Compared to many industries in the vicinity, the operation ol' our schools is big' business which involves the management ol valuable property. the animal ex- penditure ol' large sums ol' money, and the employ- ment ol' a rather large number ol personnel. The product involved is more vital than that ol' any industry. Membership on the Board has no emolument. lt requires the expenditure ol' a considerable amount ol' the time. the energies and the interest ol those serving. The rewarcl, however. can be rich in the sense ol' satislaction received in knowing that these unsellish erlorts are dedicated to the most commend- able ol' all common causes. the education and train- ing' ol' luture .-Xnterican citizens.
