The team. which usually played championship hall in the first half of each game. suddenly seemed demoralized, and fultererl hadly dur- ing the second half. This was quite visihle in almost every game. except those played against Paterson Eastside and Garfield. llpon meeting the Ghosts. the Wildcats were the underdogs hut gave the Ghosts a hattle they will prohahly nevcr forget. Although facing a ten point deficit throughout the greater part of the game. the teatn never slackened their fight- ing ways. finally ending the contest. heing defeated hy 49-44. Continuing to hattle their opposition, the Wvildcats met a team of their own calihre in Garfield High School. Match- ing the Boilermakers. point for point. the Wiildcats gave a sparkling exhihition of has- kethall. only to he heaten hy an equally dc- termined team hy the score of 60-59. The remaining gullies saw the team always fighting hut just never heing ahle to turn hack their foes. Lettermen included: Mike Kupec. Bill Shepherd, Curl Simmons, Sam Mazella. Tony Ferraro.
