IUDY BALLARD OUR GREATEST YEARS As We the class of fifty-nine Approach our graduation, We think of all that's happened since Our ninth grade registration. We were only on the threshold Cf our greatest years, it seems, When on the hill at lunior High We began fulfilling dreams. lt seems like only yesterday We passed our sophomore year, Gaining companions and knowledge, These memories hold so dear. Our junior year Was almost sad, We strived to make it the best. This was the last of old Rome High Before it formed East and West. As We, the first East Rome seniors, Obtaining the leading role For tomorrow's senior classes Hope to have set a high goal, So now We leave these treasured halls, The unknown future we face. We pray that God will bless this class As we go to take our place.

AGETHA GRAHAM has exposed the school racket since working in Mr. Crudup's office. IERRY GRESHAM has designed a rocket to the moon that anyone can learn to fly in l00 easy lessons. IENNIE LEE HADAWAY is still trying to win beauty contests. This is her tenth year to try for Miss Teen- age America. PAYE I-IALE is working on a secret project for the govern- ment. lt's called lt's a Secret mission. ROSE MARY HAMMOND is trying to explain how she can be stout and still not be fat. MARY SHELOR HARBIN is studying to be an optometrist, specializing in contact lenses. MARTHA HARDIN and IEAN IOHNSTON have been hired to assist Mr. Finley in all his classes. They took the job when SHELIA HELMS quit. MARY KEITH HASKIN holds the title of the world's fattest lady at Ringling Bros. At her side is none other than JAMES Hirci-Ioocic. WINFRED HAWKINS is captain of the Rome motorcycle cops. LAOUIEDA KEY, BRENDA DENMON, SHIRLEY LOWERY, and PATSY PATTERSON make a daily appearance at the city jail entertaining the inmates. LOUISE HONAKER has a good job advertising Ipana toothpaste. NICKY HORNE hasn't been seen since she went to see her Yugoslavian friend. lt's been rumored he got her a job in his government. LINDA KAY has started an honorable club called Eighty- nine and Under. DAN KEEVER is the ace photographer for the Esquire Magazine. ROSE KELLY really earned her nickname Pero when the scales hit 150. GREG KIRBY and WAYNE VICK are giving courses at the University of Georgia in how to have a good party. LINDA LAM has built picture shows all over the city of Rome to give the other picture establishments com- petition. ' IACKIE LAMB, BECKY BLANKENSI-IIP, IENNIE LEE, and LAURA LEVINSON have published a confidential magazine called True Confessions of the Annual Staff. GEORGE LANIER is still trying to win the Ugliest Boy Contest. I PATSY LOWE works in the French quarter of New Orleans with daily performances of her famed fan dance. MARY ANNE MCCREARY made a trip to the diamond mines of Africa to find a bigger diamond for her engagement ring. MARY ANNE MANZELLA is the pianist for the Great Cavaliers. Their next booking is Reno. BOBBY MASHBURN, after his accident at the Olympics, is now in Rome under the care of Battey. RONNIE MASHBURN joined the paratrooplers because he wanted to see how it felt to be high. MIKE MASSEY has become a parking lot attendant in Garden Lakes. His job is in the lost and found department. SALLY MAULSBY is the proud owner of a filling station. The one thing you are sure to find there is Bardahl. LARRY MEEKS has invented a shaving lotion that covers up blushes. ALEX MILLICAN has become such a ham no one can talk to him unless he knows the Morse code. RONALD MILLICAN enjoyed Shakespeare so well he gives nightly performances of Romeo. MARY MINTER likes our school so much she has decided to stay there a few more years. PAT MOSS has gone into the field of professional foot- ball, playing the position of water boy. NANCY NEWMAN, SHERRY NONEMACHER, and IUDY RUSSELL have heard so much from devils that they can't decide if they are blue or red. MARCELLA NORRIS has installed private phones in all schools so in the future lovers won't go broke. MARIE PADGETT is trying to get on TV in the adult westerns. SHIRLEY PHILLIPS wants to work on the sound effects, maybe as an Indian drummer. MARY MARGARET PHILLIPS has written a book on how to prevent scurvy. It makes interesting reading to anyone who wants to live on potatoes. LARRY RAIFORD is making his money from turtle races, with ARNOLD SHEDD as his boolcie. LARRY RICKMAN was so honored when he received Most Athletic that he came back to his Alma Mater to coach the ballet team. BILLY RUDD had to give up the title of Best Dressed when all the little weasels came along. BETTYE SLIGH has built a teenage hangout under the unusual name of The Annual. ' BOBBY TEMPLES is teaching the Spanish to write in the darkest jungles of South America. IUDY TERHUNE has become a famous clothes designer. She is now employed at the Dollar Store. ALFHILD WEBER has returned to the United States after many years because she couldn't find anyone to top our southern gentlemen. PATSY WELLS is teaching at a nearby boarding school, but she hasn't revealed the subject. PAM WENHAM is playing first flute in the Central Park Salvation Army Band. LOUISE WEST is in charge of maintaining the county roads. LAMAR WHITTENBURG has gone far in the Golden Glove fights, but broken nose and false teeth have scared away the girls. HANCE WILLIAMSON has recently been given the lead- ing role in the Howdy Doody series. ELLISSIA WITT, since reaching the age of 40, can now go to the drive-in, provided her date goes in a sepa- rate car. SANDRA WOLF has started her own private bus system. Her one rule is men only. EDWARD YOUNGBLOOD'S occupation is playing Harry Hotrod up and down- McCall Boulevard.
