Dear Mr. McAnulla, This year we set out to perform a task that was new to us and to you as well. The combination of a new staff and advisor could be one that leads to disaster. However, we feel that, through your willingness to do extra work in order to learn the process of a yearbook, we have come through successfully. The staff of the Rock and all those connected with it would like to express their gratitude for all the time and effort you have put in from the early summer meetings, to the culmination of our project. Although we only began working with you this year, Mr. Mac, we would like to thank you for helping us through “The Seventies. Mr. Charles McAnulla Yearbook Advisor

Yet many hours of planning by our fine committees and all involved, climaxing in a beautiful affair, made it seem like it passed almost before we were upon it. The usual excitement was accompanied by a great deal of anticipation as preparations were made by those to attend. And then we were there. As the limousines pulled up to “The Galaxie,” the Blue Room” filled with couples conversing, while being served hors d'oeuvres. Soon afterward each couple was led upstairs to a beautiful ballroom called the “Celestial Room.” Excellent surroundings, food, and music, provided by “Timberlake,” set the mood for a great night of dining and dancing. Ending with the final dance to our theme song “I Need You,” our prom was one that will surely be remembered for a long time. Thanks again to all those who contributed, especially our chairperson Michele Koperweis and our advisor Mr. Hersh. f7 stood in the doorway in my white gown red roses on eotton, I stood three feet from the ground.99 The ehiIdS imagination carried me along and saw me through my song.99 — Carly Simon — 13

Besides being a highly-respected organization, the Dad's Club and its many admirable contributions are recognized by both high school students and community members. The Sports Award dinner has grown from a small football dinner to an occasion in which students and faculty alike are awarded for their fine achievements in various academic and extracurricular activities. The Dad’s Club’s services have ranged from the spectator buses to the away games (which are today considered a necessity to our high school football games) to the much-appreciated observation tower which is used during home games. Though, at one time, very close to its death, the Dad’s Club has risen again to its original stature and we would like to convey our thanks for becoming an important part of our community and of our lives. (left to right) Ken Klose (treas.), Dick Gottcent (pres.), Jim Carney (sec), (missing) Al Kelley (vicepres.). Dad’s Club (I to r) Josephine Pernice (rec. sec.), Ann Klose (1 st vice pres.), Barbara Goodspeed (2nd vice pres.), Marie Celiberti (pres.), Barbara Stern (past pres.), (missing) Mary Jane Foster (corr. sec.), JoAnn Mahnken (treas.). We would like to extend our deepest gratitude and thanks to the Parent Teachers Association for its fine and dedicated work over the years we have been here. The funding of the Scholarship Award, sponsoring of the Junior Class Trip annual publishing of the Rock Rivalry Bulletin, and various other activities, which many of the students take for qranted have been brought about by the successful efforts by the P.T.A. in front of as well as behind school scenes. This year, more than ever, the members have devoted their busy schedule to not only improvement of the school, but to the betterment of our community. This valuable organization has been in existence for all of our lifetime and we sincerely hope that it will be around for many lifetimes to come. IS
