Mr. Robert Morse Principal In many schools, the position of Principal carries with it the feeling of dislike from the majority of the students. Such is not the case at East Rockaway High School. There is one man responsible for this benevolent viewpoint. That man is Mr. Morse. Many a time, students argue over who really knows him better. They eagerly go down to his office to talk about anything that bothers them. Mr. Morse can be proud of the reputation that he has, because we re proud of it too. The respect and admiration that he receives allows our principal to get personally involved in various situations. Mr. Morse is a very busy man, but the reason he's busy is that he always finds time for everyone. For this, and many other things, we thank you. Mr. Freund Assistant Principal Mr. Freund, the assistant principal, helps out the principal with various matters and is in charge of developing and improving the curriculum of our school. As the organizer of the basic program and master schedule, Mr. Freund is often faced with difficult decisions. The fact that our school's curriculum is quite good for that of a small school, is proof that he has made many beneficial decisions in this area. Mr. Freund seems to be very happy in his job, which he feels is really a part of and an extension of teaching. y - Mr. Edward Crowley Dean of Students When the opportunity arose for Mr. Crowley to take on the administrative position of dean of students, he accepted because he wanted more challenging work. Perhaps his interest in the job explains why he does it so well. As dean, Mr. Crowley has innumerable responsibilities, but his most important work deals with the supervision of all matters dealing with student discipline and attendance. We are reminded of Mr. Crowley's continual task every day when his voice comes over the announcements with that one phrase we’ll never forget.

Dr. Louis Superintendent Dr. Louis is a stranger to the halls of the High School because his job entails many responsibilities that take him outside the school. His years of experience in education have contributed to his many accomplishments. Dr. Louis works in cooperation with the Board of Education overseeing the various undertakings they deal with. These include the functions of the grammar school — Rhame Avenue and Centre Avenue, as well as the high school. During our twelve years of education in this school district. Dr. Louis has seen us through each year. Now as we prepare ourselves for graduation we would like to thank him for his guidance and direction throughout the years. BOARD OF EDUCA TION SITTING (I to r): Mrs. Carol Leahy, Mr. Eorl Cole, Mr. Horry Bunting, Mr. Peter Hughe . STANDING (I to r): Mi » Schempp, Dr. William Loui . MISSING: Mr. Roger Humes. The members of the Board of Education serve the community in an effort to upgrade the educational facilities in our school district. Their primary functions and responsibilities include overseeing the activities of the administration as well as dealing with the annual school budget. The members of the Board, many of whom have years of experience behind them, have done their jobs with dedication as well as excellence. Their true concern for the school district is clearly evident in the work they do. 6
