P Uiliil-lilfi'iY Mr. Luther Kirsch Mr. Kirsch will be remembered for numerous reasons. Some of the boys will remember him as a sports coach. And who could forget his Friday words! ll Others of us will recall gruelling rehearsals of Lost Horizon, and the fun we had with This ls Your Strife, Mr. Kirsch. All will admire and respect his philosophy of brotherly love and understanding. Both these men have proved their friendship toward us and in recognition of this we affectionately dedicate our yearbook, THE ROCK 1955, to them. 7

As the end of our stay at East Rockaway High draws near there are many things we have already forgotten, but there are many things we will always remember. Prominent among these are our two friends, Dr. Henry H. Bormann and Mr. Luther H. Kirsch. We shall try to forget the various visits to Dr. Bormann's office-for dis- ciplinary measures, but we shall long remember his understanding and sage advice. We shall often recall his warm friendship and generous support. 6

H U EH Our Editors-in-Chief Nancy Haynes and Eric Wessman have worked diligently to produce the best yearbook possible. We shall always be grateful for their untiring efforts to attain our hnal goal in high school. A The unsellish endeavors of the Literary Staff proved to be one of the main factors in the success of the 1955 ROCK. Maureen Sutherland, Patricia Pick, and Alva Tripp, the literary Co-Editors, and their stall consisting of David Thomas, Adrienne Coe, Maria Sepcich, and Myra Siegel devoted a great deal of their time and energy to the Write-ups in this, our greatest achievement of our high school career. Q i gi. The combined talents of the class artists, Joan Malmquist, Eric Wessman, and Barbara Bogutzski, made possible the beautiful artwork of our Yearbook. Parallel to the Art Staffs paper and paste work is the magnificent photographic art arranged by the editors of the Photography Staff, David Thomas and Leon Harris.
