THE OL EAN STAFF GF I96I The production of the Olnean of 1961 began in the summer of 1960. At this time the advertising campaign was launched. Since that time, each editor on the staff found that there was always some work to be done. The Olnean Club sponsored dances after the football and basketball games. The decorations for the Homecoming and Pow-l'Vow dances were also their responsibilities. Hard work and cooperation of club members with the staff has made this a successful yearbook. 72 Q Jl C0-Editors, Mary Harper and Rich- ard Bratton, found that putting out a good yearbook required a tremen- dous amount of work, but they also discovered that the rewards of a job well done were worth their tire- less efforts. Without the cooperation of Penny Murvin, Business Editor, Sharon Bateman, Copy Editor, and Martha Boswell, Social Editorg the Olnean of 1961 would not have been com- pleted. The Olnean faculty sponsors, Mr. Robert Akes and Mr. Bernard Ea- gleton, were always ready and wil- ling to help the staff in any way that they could. Since they were always optimistic, the Olnean staff says, Thanks! ?fEi3ii',!'t, f M-Qi: ' i Officers of the Student Council: Phil Weber, vice-presidentg Tom Singley, treasurer, Martha Boswell, secretary, and Richard Bratton, president. The Student Council constantly endeavors to en- courage loyalty and to develop good will between students, faculty, and community. The council sponsors such activities as Homecom- ing, Color Day, Pow-Wow, May Day parade, cheer- leading elections, and most of the general activities pertaining to the student body as a whole. This year many special projects have been undertaken by the Student Council for the betterment of the students and the school. fp- Richard Bratton, president of the Student Council, de- livers the address at the North Egypt Conference Student Council Meeting. Mas The Tiger Rag club members are the inquisitive group of the school. If any news happens they are on the spot reporters asking their six basic questions, who, what, when, where, why and how. The club produces at least eighteen issues of a six page paper I annually. The aim of our paper, as of any paper, is to keep the students informed on the events of all the groups within the school.
