82 It was determination, skill, and most of all, unity, that led the Eastern Randolph football squad to a winning season in the first year of competition. Neither injuries nor defeat discouraged Coach Brower’s pack of cats, as they won the last two games of the season over two powerful foes and emerged with a 5-5 record. Even though the Wildcats were not eligible for the conference crown, next year’s team will be in the thick of con- ference play. Having the same drive as the ’68 Wildcats, they will likely keep the winning tradition of our school.
