GQJS 0 '68 The members of the Board of Education, the faculty. and members of the staff, join me in extending our congratulations and best wishes to the graduates of the Class ofl968. This should be a proud occasion for each of you, in that you have attained one of your first major goals in life. How well you have done and how well you have used your preparatory years is your own personal evaluation. The first third of your live is spent in prepar- ing yourself for your life's vocation. Your future happiness and success are dependent upon your training. your abilities, and how well you like what you are doing. You must find the spot where you can do the most good for your home. your community, and your nation. Our best wishes go with you as you continue your . H G. B . . . . D' emy emu education and enter your chosen field in life. Your class is the 42nd class to finish their preparation in East Pittsburgh High. As you begin your career, members ofthe earlier classes are completing their life's work. You are needed to take their places and to assume the duties and responsibilities of citizenship. They have done their work well and your duty is to take up the torch and continue where they have left off. You are entering a world that is facing many difficulties and many trying times. Out of all of this, it is our hope that a new era will emerge, with higher moral standards, new scientific achievements, better recreational activities and improvements in the health and welfare of mankind. The part you will take in this new era is a real challenge to you. Again, congratulations on your commencement and our best wishes for your success and happiness. if Dr. Henry G. Our first duty was the election of class officers. We elected Joe Sentipal. prcsidentl Brenda Davis, vice president: Jolm Stefano. secretaryi and Maurine Chadonic, treasurer. This was the year to decide which course would best suit our future career. We could enter into various clubs. athletics, and join the chorus. As sophomores, we elected Joe Sentipal, presidentl Lorraine Thomas, vice president: Jackie Navish. secretaryl and Helen Sestak, treasurer. Some members of our classjoined Junior Achievement and the Green and White Staff. As juniors, now considered upperclassmen, we elected Joe Sentipal, president: Michael Trbovich, vice presidentl Jackie Navish. secretaryg and Lorraine Thomas, treasurer. During the year, we were able to order and receive our class rings. There was much excitement over the Junior-Senior Prom. To guide us through our senior year filled with many tasks. we elected Michael Trbovich, presidentq Lorraine Thomas, vice presidentg Jackie Navish, secretaryg and Larry Nuckles. treasurer. Under the able supervision of Miss Munjas. class advisor. we were ready to assume leadership in school affairs. The senior dance and sale ofChristmas cards improved our financial status. The exchange of pictures and name cards made us realize that our school year was coming to an end. We have established many lasting friendships and gained countless experiences and memories in our high school year. We are grateful for the guidance and instructions we have received from Dr. Beamer. Mrs. Abrams, Mr. Bonacci, Miss Munjas, and members of the faculty. Our thanks and best wishes go to them as well as to the future graduates of E.l'.H.S. 20 . K-' . Preparing for the role of Seniors with great enthusi- asm, participating in sports, and becoming associated with the various school clubs the Class of '69 is very busy. Among the activities are band, chorus, baslwtball, baseball and volleyball in which almost the whole class has participates in at one time or another. The Annual, Green and White, Students Council, and Red Cross are just some of the clubs in which there are active Junior members. The annual Christmas card sale was the J unior's first project. The profit derived from the sale of these cards was used for the Junior-Senior prom. Mr. Clougherty, the Junior Advisor, encouraged the students, making the sale an overwhelming success.
