Class of '63 The Board of Education and thepmembers of our professional and non-professional staff join me in extending our heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the graduates of the Class of 1963. Your graduation is your first major stepping stone in preparation for the life ahead of you, and you now take your place with the thousands of young men and young Women in our State and in our Nation who have also reached this goal of attainment. As one of this large group, each of you must carefully analyze your interests and capa- bilities and decide on the next best step. Your commencement is only a beginning but it does place you closer to the many paths which lie ahead and places upon your shoulders the responsibility of choosing the path best suited for you. Whether it be to continue higher education or to enter one of the many phases of business or industrial life you must always move ahead, continuing your education and your training so that you may better serve your fellow man. Our best wishes for your success and happiness go with you on this occasion. E, 2 1 Dr. Henry G. Beamer You are entering this new phase of life at a time when many and varied problems face the world, when sound leadership is needed. The opportunities for you are many but each demands the best in you. You will be faced - with many problems demanding quick decisions which will have a direct bearing on your entire life. A strong will and a strong body will be essential to meet the demands, of everyday life. We are on the threshhold of , the world of tomorrow-a new era-where modes of travel bring remotest places very near. A spirit of nationalism, a desire for knowledge, a yearning for better life has swept across the world and is creating a keen form of competition. It will not be easy to charter your course in this new age and you will have to make greater efforts and exhibit a greater determination in your preparation for life in a competitive world. It is our hope that the foundation you have laid here will guide your heart and mind 1n working with and for your fellow man. Congratulations on your Commencement, and our best wishes for your success and happiness. Sincerely pf' If jj 1.44.5 i ,e4z,,M1ci'1.f Henry G. On a sunny September morning in the year 1959 We entered E.P.H.S., young, a little shy, but determined to make ourselves known through our academic and so- cial activities. To help direct our class through the year we elected J. Schiffhauer as president, M. Remias as vice presidentg R. Naugle as secretary, and M. Boden as treasurer. As Freshmen, four years seemed like a long time, but as We look back it seems like only yes- terday. Senior high at last! This year our leaders were R. Sullivan as president, J. Schiffhauer as vice presi- dentg P. Holleran as secretary, and F. Botti as treas- urer. We all were proud of our class with many of us on the football and basketball squads, in the band, on the Green 81 White staff, and in the High School Cho- rus. Several of our girls became majorettes, twirlers, and cheerleaders. As the Wonderful year came to a close, We all looked forward to 'fthat fabulous Junior yearf, We were back in school once again and proud to be Juniors. R. Sullivan remained as president and P. Hol- leran remained as secretary. J. Holleran was elected vice president and M. Boden as treasurer. Everyone was anxious to receive his class rings and in February they arrived. 4'Tammy Tell Me Truen was selected as the Jr.-Sr. Play, and under the direction of Mrs. Helen Morgan, it turned out to be a great success. The active year came to a close with the Ir.-Sr. Prom held at the Adams House. Who can ever forget that famous Senior year? Once again R. Sullivan was our president and P. Holleran our secretary. D. Ryan was elected as vice president and F. Botti as treasurer. The selection of the yearbook staff and the preparation of the yearbook made everybody excited. At last our Senior pictures arrived and every- body Was pleased. The Jr.-Sr. Play, the May Crowning, and Prom approached us rapidly. Then came the great day of our lives-Graduation. As We fifty-one Seniors march slowly down the aisle with our green and white caps and gowns, We will always remember the countless number of happy times we shared at E.P.H.S. 3 1 4 3 . 1 1 E E Q Q 3 3 3 E I IOHI of '62 F. We sincerely hope that your senior year at E.P.H.S. will be as rewarding and fulfilling as the past year has been for us. As in previous years, the Presentation of the Chain at Commence- ment is our final farewell. We are proud to add the 37th link to this chain. The graduating class of '63 would like to thank Dr. Beamer, the School Board, and our teachers for the guidance, patience, and understanding they have given us in our school years.
