Judy Hack Jean 'T’fat utaC Society Thirteen members of the newly organized National Honor Society were initiated by the officers of the Pitts- field Chapter of the National Honor Society on Wednesday, April 23. These new members are as follows: Seniors, Eleanor Daniel and Loretta Ottwell; Juniors, Glenna Ramsey, Dorothy Cloninger, Sharcn Mitchell, and Brenda Campbell; and Sophomores, Jean Daniel, Judy Hess, Judy Hack, Judy Kingery, Jim Graham, Ron Edwards, and Don Crater. The members who are initiated into the National Honor Society must have a scholastic average of no less than 4.1. He cannot have more than one C for a semester average. In addition to scholarship, each candidate is considered and given points by the faculty members on their service, leadership, and character. These mem- bers will then have a seal placed on their diploma at graduation. The object of the National Honor Society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership and to encourage the development of character in students of East Pike High School. 64
