Mrs. Margaret Bahnfleth, Dean of Girls and a very busy person at E. P. C. H. S., received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees at Bradley University. Having taught school for twenty years, she has just finished her sixth year at our school. Some of her duties are counseling, disciplining, holding conferences, making reports and recom- mendations. She is also in charge of our summer school courses and the foreign exchange student program in our school. Administration Mr. Stanley Niehaus is not only the Assistant Principal, but also the Director of Guidance. In his work as Director of Guidance, Mr. Niehaus counsels the students concerning their courses and future occupations. Mr. Niehaus spends much of his time helping the teachers. He also interviews and recommends all prospective teachers. Having received his B.A. and M.A. at the Uni- versity of Iowa, Mr. Niehaus is now working on his Doctorate at the University of Indiana. He also studied at Purdue University and Bradley University where he taught psychology for ten years before he came to E. P. C. H. S. Mr. Russell Moore is a very busy person as Dean of Boys. One of Mr. Moorels most impor- tant duties is to supervise the conduct of the boys at E. P. C. H. S. Mr. Moore helps administer placement tests and aids incoming freshmen in their orientation. Mr. Moore earned his Bachelor of Science de- gree and Master of Science degree at Bradley University.

Superintendent A friendly smile always greets the visitor in the office of Mr. Moore, Superintendent of East Peoria Community High School. The B.S. Degree secured by Mr. Moore at Illinois State Nor- mal University was followed by a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University. Although Mr. Moore has been handicapped by illness, the weight of his achievements is constantly felt in the administration and supervision of the school. In his 41 years of service to both school and community, Mr. Moore has been truly dedicated to bringing sound education to E. P. C. H. S. Principal In Principal John W. Fritz we find a combination of educational understanding and a warm, friendly personality. Constantly surrounded by teachers and others with problems, Mr. Fritz retains his calm appearance and gives assurance to those who need it. Mr. Fritz has held his present position as principal of E. P. C. H. S. since 1927. His devoted service in- dicates a glowing school spirit. Mr. Fritz earned his Master of Science degree at the University of Illinois and his Bachelor of Science degree at Bradley University.

Counselors Starting his full-time career as counselor in 1961, Mr. Brad Murphy is counseling for the seniors and a portion of the freshmen. Mr. Murphy has attended Knox College, Western Illi- nois University, Colorado State, and Bradley Uni- versity, receiving his A.B. at Knox College and his M.S. at Colorado State. He presently is teaching economics, and in the fall he adds coaching to his counseling duties, being coach of the sophomore football team. The head of guides and statistics for the counseling service, the personable Mr. Murphy is very well liked by the student body. Mr. Charles Williams, a junior and freshman counselor, received his formal education at Knox College and Bradley University. He holds the B.A. and M.A. degrees. In addition to his capable counseling, he is also head of the Vocations Department and advisor for the Student Council. Although last year Mr. Williams was a member of the Social Science Department, this year he is devoting his entire time to working with the deans and other counselors in Student Services. Busily working on her Master's degree at Brad- ley University, Miss Klopfenstein holds a Bachelor of Arts from Eureka College. Teaching sopho- -more English enables her to come in closer contact with many students under her direction. Besides sophomores, she also counsels a portion of the freshman class while opening her doors to those of all classes who need her understanding and guidance in their personal affairs.
