They represented our school superbly. Under Coach Don Hinten, East Palestine fans watched the Bulldogs play a tough brand of ball. Through their hustle and team spirit, any opponent who met them couldn't take it easy. Our opponents had to play all-out ball to beat the Bulldogs. The record itself doesn't show everything. Although having a season record of nine wins and eleven losses, the Bulldogs scored more total points than their opponents 1181 - 1169. ln the Lisbon game James Knight set a one game record as he hit the hoop for 35 points. Plagued by bad breaks, the local team lost many close ones by the narrowest of margins. These came to a climax when East Palestine lost a sudden death decision to Canfield at the Struthers Tournament. Be- fore bowing out, however, they defeated a highly- rated Hubbard five. 68 38 59 57 46 64 53 53 49 65 76 58 75 51 49 76 57 60 65 62 1181 Canfield Rayen Boardman Salem Columbia na Louisville Poland Minerva Leetonia Lisbon Sebring Columbiana Louisville Poland Minerva Leetonia Lisbon Sebring Struthers Tournament Total Points 1' Overtime Hubbard Canfield 59 47 52 74 41 73 64 57 48 53 60 64 64 60 50 53 64 62 60+ 64 Opponent 1 169 M Sudden Death Overtime ls it ?
