“SENIOR HISTORY Starting to school in 1935 Bob Wilson Kenny Nxswonger Ada Marle Runner B111 stor junior Tharp and many others joined together in the first grade Miss Myers taught us the A B C s and also how to count It was ln january of 1936 that the distrlct around Palestine experienced the worst snow blizzard in years Many pupils stayed at the school house and in town while some of the fortunate ones got ways home This experience we shall never forget Miss Adavier who has taught for se eral years and is still teaching here at Palestme taught us m the second grade Iumor Tharp left during this year Harry Poling came ln the third grade to cheer us up and has been with us ever since Mr Noll took over the fourth grade but B111 Nestor must not have llked him anyway he moved away Miss Woods lo is now Mrs Elliott and whom we still have with us 1n Palestine School wel tmed Noel Marshall to our group In 1939 Mr Sidney Stevens took the task of 1 ching us so he could help shove us through the door It really was a task be reuse Duane Goens Helen Lowdenslager and Betty Stevens came Bob Wilson tl ked elsewhere The opportunlty of being in the High School building caxne to s 1 1941 with Mrs Neanen as our class advisor We thought we were big people be mg with all the High School students Due to the war and to the fact that there was a teacher shortage it was necessary for us to go back to the grade build ng A e missed Betty Stevens but Mabel Waymire took part mn our activities Most of u w1ll remember the large window broken out of the door because some girls de clded to play ball in the hall The boys and glrls were always feudmg that year but I guess all children go through that stage of life Miss Mary 1-lalladay whom we now 1 we at Palestine prepared us for the eighth grade test Having passed this and am ln 1943 only to find we had seven new friends joan Archie Martha Grim Ma y Lou Hapner junior Tharp Ray Richards Also Bob Wilson and Bill Nestor zejomed us During Freshman Initiation Day we were forced to wear our clothes Latkwards and the boys had to wear make up but worst of all we cryed all day ve had to wear sliced onlons around our necks Boy what a smelly school that 11 ' We got even by working 01 the class of 48 Whlle we were Sophomores 1 ity Stevens rejoined us when we were juniors while Kenny Oliver helped us put um our Recorder and Annual in the Senior year He joined us ln our last year Kenny Lee Nisvtt Jer and Ada Marne r started ln school together and con ed their twelve yeax f choollng at Palestme We shall remember all these years of High School and all the thlngs that P ppened our class advisors Miss Yokum Mrs McNemar Mrs Bryant and Mrs ich In our years of school at Palestine Three Days of Grace our junior Class may was glven in 1945 Nov 13 and we shall never forget our practxces and of how scared we were the night of the performance Instead of a junior and Senior recep txon we took a tr p to Columbus and the southern part of Chlo This was another mile stone of our life Upon graduatlon we would like to wlsh all the pupils of falestlne as much happmess and pleasure as we ve had in golng to Palestine if . . . 1 . , . 1 .
